First off, we’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported our food truck over the years; it means a lot as we look forward to starting our 5th year in business in a few short months.
Just as many of you are making changes for 2015, so is Rickshaw. It’s never easy communicating a change to something that people love, but we want to be honest with you–our loyal foodies. Beef prices have risen dramatically over the last 4 years (~56% increase), yet we’ve never adjusted our menu prices/selection to reflect this. To be completely honest, 2014 was quite a struggle for us to keep up with increasing costs, while also covering sales tax.
So effective 01/01/2015, our Beef Bihari Kebab will now be a special instead of a regular menu item as the custom round steak cut for this kebab is at a 20-year high. Sales tax will also be added in addition to our regular menu prices (currently 8.25%.) But we’ll be adding a couple new dishes this year to increase menu variety–so you’ll be able to try new things at our truck more frequently.
We hope you understand that these changes are necessary for us to stay in business and that you’ll continue to support our family-owned food truck in 2015. Our pledge to you is that we will keep serving you the best-tasting Pakistani food in the city.

Just picture it: Your friends/family/co-workers walk up to our shiny truck to pick up their tasty meal. While they’re in line, they are talking, laughing, interacting with our friendly staff–basically enjoying an awesome food truck experience.
And the food! We have menu possibilities for all kinds of parties and guests: small plates, large plates, vegan, vegetarian, desserts, even specialty off-menu items like biryani. No matter how you spin it, food trucks & craft breweries compliment each other perfectly. Whether the brewery asks the food truck to incorporate their beer into a menu item or if the menu items are simply being paired with different varieties of beer: it all works!

We haven’t even mentioned how the culture you find at breweries matches perfectly with the food truck world. We are like a giant network–NO–a giant family that support each other in a fascinating symbiotic relationship.
San Antonio Beer Week is coming up May 10-18th and you will be pleased to find a significant amount of events that will be including local San Antonio food trucks. Be sure to follow on Facebook and/or Twitter to stay up to date on when everything will be happening.
But we’ve got to be honest: there’s no way we could have done this without YOU.
Thank YOU for ‘taking a chance on that Pakistani truck’ and finding out that yea…you really DO enjoy ‘ethnic’ food! Thank YOU for telling all of your friends about us. Thank YOU for explaining our menu to new customers while you wait in line. Thank YOU for posting your reviews of our food/customer service on Yelp, Urbanspoon, Google and other online sites. Thank YOU for taking awesome pictures of our food and sharing them on Twitter, Facebook, Foodspotting and Instagram. Thank YOU for the face-to-face conversations we have at the truck, when you see us out & about in San Antonio, and also for the ‘virtual’ conversations we have via social media.
See – this award is more about YOU, and less about us. You should be proud to have the #7 rated Food Truck in America here in San Antonio. Next year, let’s make it our goal to get even MORE San Antonio food trucks on these lists!

Helpful tips to ensure you have an AWESOME time:
Arrive EARLY. The event starts at 2:00pm, but we recommend coming around 1:30 to ensure you get in first so you can “stake your spot” in the back.
Bring a CHAIR. There are some folding chairs, but the seating is limited so bring your bag chair & get comfy. Bring a canopy as well, if you want – you can set it up and you’ll probably make some friends wanting to get out of the South TX sun!
Bring SUNSCREEN/Hat/Etc. A large portion of the event is outside, so for those who burn, be sure dress appropriately and bring sunscreen.
Bring CASH. Most food trucks accept credit cards (we always do), but we definitely LOVE the money that folds!
March 30, 2013 will be the last day you will have regular access to our one-of-a-kind authentic Pakistani food at the Boardwalk on Bulverde (BoB) food truck park.
Why? Well, we realize that our food truck has wheels and there are quite a few folks around San Antonio who have not had a chance to taste our amazing food. So, we’re embracing the essential benefit of being a food truck and becoming truly mobile so we can share our addictive samosas, “The Tony” and our other tasty bites all over town. You just might see us on the highway heading to our next location, or we may even turn up for the day at another area food truck park. (For example, we’ll be at The Point on Boerne Stage Road in April!)

San Antonio Food Trucks will have a much stronger voice in the very near future.
Keith Hill from K-Hill BBQ Company & Sameer Siddiqui from Rickshaw Stop spear-headed the San Antonio Food Truck Association by creating a non-profit 501(c) in 2012 with the hopes of organizing and unifying the local food truck, trailer and cart vendors into a single, united community. The goal of the association is to bring professionalism and credibility to the Mobile Food industry in San Antonio. With the help of Jon Lindskog (Cheesy Jane’s), Joseph Jackson (Lagniappe Today) and Neil Hajji (Wheelie Gourmet & Culture Cafe) membership by-laws have been written, including a code of conduct & ethics, and SAFTA is now accepting membership applications. As with any other trade association, we will offer a full array of services and benefits to our members.
Founder members. Provides full association benefits for food truck owners only.
Associate members. Provides no voting rights, but is open is to anyone.
Please keep in mind we are a new organization and we will all grow together. Whether a rookie or seasoned veteran, we highly recommend attending one of our meetings for further information.
